In this project, I've transformed my three-tiered desktop bookshelf into a dynamic stage for projection mapping. Positioned prominently in my workspace, this bookshelf has become a canvas, reflecting my daily encounters with objects that hold personal significance.
The main projection, a three-minute video, captures snippets of my routine, shot with a vintage DV camera from the '90s. These slices of life, including the breaking of eggs, stirring, and scenes from my travels worldwide, are curated to tell a visual story. Interspersed with these moments is a poetic narrative, echoing the ephemerality of time and the emotions tied to it.
Complementing the primary video are four fragmented body-focused videos. Inspired by Wong Karwai's aesthetic, these clips showcase my engagement with literature. The play of light, angles, and carefully curated compositions aim to evoke moods in sync with the themes explored in the literature that has shaped me.
The projection mapping extends beyond the bookshelf, utilizing surfaces like a jewelry box, a medicine container, a lampshade, and the wall. Each projection serves as a visual echo, offering glimpses into different facets of my life and creating a cohesive narrative.
Multisensory elements are integrated to enhance the immersive experience. The fragrance of orange-scented perfume, the ambient white noise of a log fire, and the warm glow of a yellow night lamp add layers to the sensory narrative, engaging viewers on multiple levels.
